Blog Response Tablet XI

                        http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=es&rlz=1C1GGGE_esCO424&biw=1920&bih=989&tbm=isch&tbnid=qChSM2ZESqzX8M:&imgrefurl=http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bonaventura_Peeters_-_The_Great_Flood_-_WGA17128.jpg&docid=ghC3OzejcrlxMM&imgurl=http://upload.wikimedia.or

This tablet talks about how Gilgamesh and Utnapishtum met. Gilgamesh asks to Utnapishtim how did he obtain eternal life. Then Utnapishtim tells him the story of how, thanks to a voice he heard through his walls he was able to achieve eternal life. The voice tels him that the gods will create a great flood and that he has to build a boat with a couple of each living thing. This story is strikingly similar to the story of Noah´s Arc. Then he and his wife gon tinto the boat. Afterwards it rained for six nights and seven days. After the flood they arive at mount Nisir, really similar to mount Ararat in the Bible. Afterwards Utnapishtim frees a Dove like in the Bible. Then the gods grant him and his wife eternal life. Besides the similarities with the Bible, the story of Utnapishtim teaches that with a great acomplishment, comes an even larger reward.

After this Utnapishtim tells Gilgamesh that he must go through a test to.The ocean Mist sleeps Gilgamesh. Every day Utnapishtim´s wife would leave water near Gilgmesh, for seven days. The first one was really bad, the next one was rottern but  little better. Every day the water got  a little better until one day it was fresh. This day Utnapishtim touched Gilgamesh on the fore-head and Gilgamesh wok up. After this Utnapishtim tells Gilganesh to get a plant, jis reward, this plant is in the sea. After a boatman adorned Gilgameh with ornaments worthy of the king of Uruk, they both went in search of it. Stoping every 20 leages to eat and thirty to rest the night. But after all this effort a snake took the thorny plant. Disapointed they went back to Uruk. The story of the snake also remids me of the story of Adam and Eave in the Bible, because thanks to a snake´s corruption they where not able to liv in paradise. This teaches nus that even after a great effort, things might not work out after all.

Reading Blog "Gilgamesh" Tablets 7 and 8

                 1. In the past I have met people that want revenge, in the same way that Ishtar wanted after tryig to be with Gilgamesh. I have also met people that like Ishtar have an attitude of "If I can´t have it, then nobody can"

2.The fact that Gilgamesh killed Huwawa , led him to the event with Ishtar. This is comparable to the Hindu concept of Karma, which states that whatever you dowill have concequences 7 times bigger.

3.Why did ishtar attack Uruk instead of going only for Gilgamesh, and why did Enkidu foight the bulll when the apropriate person to do t was Gilgamessh. How will other gods react.

              1. Similarly to Enkidu I have also woken up en the middle of the night fellin that I am not alone or that sombady touched me. This hasent happened to me in years but still it is very similar to what Enkido experienced.

2.The fact that Huwawa whas th guardian of a cedar forest is comparable to romania 300 years ago, when peple where sfraid to go into the forest at nigth because they had many superstitions and thougt they would ket killed if they went in there.

Uruk whas a real city

Reading Blog "Gilgamesh" Tables 1-3

               1. The scene where Gilgamesh´s mather adopts Enkido reminds me of when my Brother was born. This is because gaining a nes brother is an important event because now we are "at least for now"in the same path in life. This could be campared to the scene where Gilgamesh and Enkidu plan to go into the wooods together and kill Huwawa.

               2. These first three tablets remind me of Ishmael, because when Enkidu goes to Uruk he becomes a taker rather than a leaver. He lived in the wildernes at first but then he went to Uruk. He being created from clay reminds me of adam in he bible.

3.What will happen to Gilgamesh and Enkidu when the confront Huwawa. What can I infer from that. What will th Gods do next.
