This chapter reminds me of Colombia a little. Here in Colombia unfortunately there are people who manufacture fake passports. But in persepolis the want a fake passport for Marjane´s uncle who was ill and needed treatment in England. Here in Colombia people made these fake documents to smuggle drugs into other countries . The fact that the place where these documents were being manufactured was destroyed doomed the uncle. Ironically his real passport arrived the day of his funeral.
This chapter also reminds me of a case in which a man was waiting in line for medical treatment and died. This is comparable to the fact that uncle taher´s passport arrived the day of his funeral. The fact that this man was not able to receive medical treatment is really similar to uncle Taher´s case. The fact that the “passport manufacturers” were hiding a communist woman in their basement is comparable to political persecution here in Colombia. People often had to hide just for their political beliefs.
